When you operate the computer, in comparison with reading a book when you can easily find a comfortable position, you depend entirely on the position of the display. In addition, the screen as a source of light is considered to be an active contrast device (a sheet of paper - passive contrast), which is not so heavily depends on the intensity of lighting and angle of incidence of the light. The image on the screen is dynamically updated. Low frequency of updating (regeneration) causes the flickering of the image.
Usually people look at the screen of the monitor during a long time. In this case eye and intraocular muscles remain unmoved, while they need the dynamic movement. According to the scientists this leads to the visual impairment. A long-lasting work with computers also requires a high concentration that leads to high loads on the eyes. Eye sight tiredness appears which leads to the emergence of short-sightedness, headaches, irritability, nervous tension and stress. To avoid this, you need to remember that the higher the resolvability of your monitor, the better and clearer image on the screen, and so it causes less tiredness for eyes.
The lighting in the room reduces the contrast of the image, but don’t forget that increasing of the brightness may cause the eye tiredness. Glare on the monitor also prevent to perceive the information from the screen, force to change the position of the head and body, strain eyesight. Pressure on the eye increases as well as on the neck, back, shoulders and arms which leads to a rapid tiredness. The saucers of glare is light sources that are placed next to the screen of the monitor, e.g. light equipment, bright surfaces, unblinded windows and even light clothing of the user.
There are special types of massage; the complexes of taking the eye tiredness off, it impacts on the biologically active points, there are also the exercises to improve muscle tone and relaxing some groups of muscles. Color visual and mental stimulation techniques are also used actively. Tests of this program have showed that it improves visual acuity (up to 0.1 index in 60% -70% cases), reduce symptoms of eye sight tiredness (in 90% cases).
