The most important vitamin for eyes is vitamin A. It is involved in the process of perception of light, and without this vitamin eyes could not adjust to the dim lighting and see worse the blue and yellow colors. To supple the organism with the vitamin, include in your diet carrots, tomatoes, leafy vegetables and fish-oil. In the second place after vitamin A stands vitamin from Group B. They are influenced not only on the eye itself, but on the brain centers responsible for visual perception (though they influence on nerve cells in the retina). The vitamins of group B get in the organism primarily with the plant foods, i.e. nuts, most fruits, cereals, as well as liver, kidney and different fish. While a shortage of vitamin C affects the muscles that control eye movements and muscles changing the condition of the crystalline lens. It is contained in the following foodstuffs: blackberry, citrus fruits, onion, tomato, spinach, apples. And, of course, do not forget about potassium that controls the condition of blood vessels of the eye, providing the eyes with oxygen. This substance is present in honey and apple vinegar in abundance, as well as in vegetable oil.
Even if you have god eyesight, your eyes still need to be protected from all kinds of infections and other problems. To know exactly that your eyes are in order, and your eye sight is excellent, you should consult a doctor twice a year. And do not forget about the basic safety rules.
The use of sunglasses is one of the most common ways to protect the eyes. Ultraviolet rays affect the internal structures of the eye, but if you always wear sunglasses, when you are in the sun, then you thereby prevent degeneration of the retina and cataract. Special goggles are obligatory for sports games and active winter holiday. The only one condition is to buy quality goggles.
If you have to work long at the computer and therefore you often feel that your eyes are dry and red, use the so-called «artificial tear». But don’t use medicine that removes redness, as they may contain harmful chemical compounds. To avoid microbes in the eye, do not let anyone use your cosmetics and, of course, do not rub your eyes with dirty hands.
